Degrees Above Zero

December 30, 2012

Sweater: Choies

Skirt: Topshop

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell 'Stinger' (gift from brother)

..

This is the whole outfit from the detail shot I posted yesterday. This sweater is, as I said, from Choies and is extremely reminiscent of the Balenciaga AW 2012 "space"sweaters, and I suppose that is what drew me to it in the first place. I chose to combine it with some school-girly items to get that preppy look I know and love: a burgundy skirt that I bought from Topshop in London and my new, favorite 'Stinger' creepers from Jeffrey Campbell (which are by the way WAY cold to wear when it's below zero degrees outside. Just saying).

Today it's been several degrees above zero and rainy, which is rare for being north of Sweden at the end of December, but I am not complaining, I like rain better than the freezing weather.

And tomorrow is New Year's Eve, it's amazing how fast 2012 has gone by, yet how much has happened, just wow. What are you all doing tomorrow night?

I am hanging out with one of my best friends, first at my house and then downtown with the rest of my city, so that's gonna be fun!

Sci-Fi Details + VLOG Questions

December 29, 2012

"Special Presentation" Sweater: Choies (click to get to product)

'Stinger' Creepers: by Jeffrey Campbell (gift from my brother)

/ /

Another gifted sweater from Choies.com, and it's impossible not to draw a line to the "Special Presentation" Balenciaga sweaters from their 2012 autumn collection. But I love this idea of combining sort of "spacy", sci-fi inspired sweaters with more preppy details. Suits my urge to find edgy details and not keeping it "too classy" perfectly.

Another thing:

I have gotten a lot of requests from you to make a new VLOG featuring my answers to your questions. I do have some questions which I haven't answered and will include in that video, but if you have more questions (can be anything you want really, but try to ask fun ones haha!), or just want to ask for the sake of asking, do it in the box below and I will include them in my video:

90s Lemonade

December 28, 2012

Sweater: Choies (click to get to product page)

Skirt: The Red Cross Store (Umeå, City-butiken)

'Stinger' Creepers: Jeffrey Campbell/gift from brother

//

I got this bright-lemon, cropped sweater from Choies two days before Christmas and that was a great pre-Christmas gift, indeed. It's sort of corny and really awesome all at the same time, and as you may know I tend to love those items. I love the 90s vibe that it has and therefore decided to style it in that way: with my leather skirt from the  Red Cross Store and my new shoes from Jeffrey Campbell. Edgy.

The Stinger Creepers

December 26, 2012

'Stinger' Creepers: Jeffrey Campbell, gift from brother

Book: 'Grace - A Memoir' by Grace Coddington

/ /

So Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is now over and I have been having a wonderful time with my family, I love hanging out everyone together like we have been doing for the past couple of days.

And with Christmas comes Christmas presents and I both received and gave some AMAZING things. I will show you more of them later on but for now, two of my favourite things from two of my fantastic brothers:

These shoes, these shoes, people. They are the Jeffrey Campbell 'Stinger' creepers and I have been lusting after them since this summer and on Christmas Eve they were wrapped up in a shoe box under the tree, from my brother. I am just going to say this: you will see a lot of these precious things on my blog from now on. I love the fact that they are even transparent, can you see that? Black transparency.

And the book, the memoirs by Grace Coddington (my role model for fashion and styling and a career within this field), which I am just so looking forward to reading to know more about this exquisite woman with long, red hair.

Hope y'all have been having a beautiful Christmas! Now I am heading on a road trip to my mom's side of the family for more celebration.

A Style Gossiper Christmas Card

December 24, 2012

Burgundy Suede Coat: second hand

Knitted scarf: Monki

Creepers: Selfridge's/Underground

//

Merry Xmas and especially Merry Christmas Eve, which it is today! Probably the biggest celebration day of the year for us Swedes, and I am always just as excited for this day. I love giving gifts and I love receiving them (well who doesn't, though?), but most of all, today is about being with family and I have the most amazing, big family, but it's not often all of us get to hang out together so this day is amazing because we can do that.

 So, what's the style gossip for today? After all, this blog is named "The Style Gossiper" and I do consider myself one, since I am more interested in gossiping about a bad-ass dress than a bad-ass person.

 But as for today, let's just skip the gossip and enjoy Christmas and tons of food, presents and more importantly: family. I know I will.

This is my Christmas Card for you, dressed in what keeps me warm during the winter season: a big, burgundy suede coat and a knitted, mustard-y scarf. Because keeping warm doesn't necessarily equals being unfashionable. But in all honesty, I would pick "being stylish" before "keeping warm" anytime (but shh, don't tell anyone about that, especially not my mother).

Grungy Roses

December 22, 2012

 Rose Sweater: American Apparel

Transparent Black Dress: Thrifted And Modern

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

//

So yesterday was supposedly the day the world would bang, crash, boom. But I honestly only heard one little scraping sound when I woke up and that turned out to be a car or something, so who knows.

This is not perhaps a typical December look, nothing Christmas-y with it at all but we can't walk around wearing reindeer necklaces and what not all of the time during these days before Christmas, so I went for a bit of romantic grunge..which I honestly am starting to love as much as I love me the preppy style.

The sheer, transparent, black, grungy dress is from one of my favourite collaborators, the L.A-based store Thrifted And Modern, which you can visit HERE.

Oh and now I offically don't have any more school this year, which is lovely. And this means I can actually shoot some things outside during the days too, for those of you who are getting fed up with seeing my room.

That's all for now.

XOXO

The Perfect Dress For Christmas Cocktails

December 17, 2012

 Dress: Zara

Shoes: Topshop/Ofiice, London

//

This dress has been a rarely-used favorite in my closet for more than a year now. I bought it at Zara in Berlin in the summer of 2011 and I haven't used it a lot for some reason, but when I use it I just love it.

I wore it on Christmas Eve one year ago and it was the perfect dress for that (so I might re-use it this year, shh!). It is also the perfect dress for a hot summer day, when matching it with a pair of dotted white socks and a couple of shiny creepers, like I am doing on these photos.

It ALSO reminds me a bit of the very stylish  First Lady, Michelle Obama and her sleeveless-cut dresses.

So all in all, the perfect dress.

A Dotted Detail

December 16, 2012

A couple of photos from something we shot today. This dress is a dress I will tell you more about tomorrow and the combination with the dotted socks (can you see the dots on them?) makes this into a total dotted look. Which I, quite frankly, love.

What do you think about dots in general? And especially, what do you think about combining dots with dots?
