The Circle Flash Effect

Another thing I got for my b-day a few days ago was a circle flash. It's this awesom flash that you attach to your camera and it gives you the sort of "light in the middle, dark around"-effect. I am still figuring out how to use it properly so don't be too harsh when looking at the photos above, not that you ever are but.

I love the effect though and after having seen SO many fashion editorials using this flash, I needed to try it out myself.

  3. I agree--this deliberate flash is such a widespread trend in so many fashion shoots. It's funny because in my photography class today, my professor was saying how "real" photographers don't use direct eye-level flash like that. And so I just found it ironic how this style towards overly-lit/exposed photographs technically goes against the "rules", if you will! It definitely gives that vintage, film camera feel.
